Aktualni Grammy ima relativno velik broj nominiranih, budući da su dodane dvije nove kategorije (Najbolja globalna glazbena izvedba na globalnom glazbenom polju i Najbolji album Música Urbana na latino glazbenom polju) čime je ukupan broj kategorija GRAMMY nagrada porastao na 86.

Obzirom da je svaka od četiri velike kategorije proširena na 10 nominiranih (s prošlogodišnjih osam), ovogodišnja dodjela nagrada GRAMMY, koja se emitira na CBS-u 31. siječnja 2022., zasigurno će biti posebno uzbudljiva.

Glazbenici s najviše nominacija

Jon Batiste je najnominiraniji umjetnik ove sezone, zaradio je nevjerojatnih 11 nominacija. Što je još impresivnije, njegove nominacije protežu se kroz sedam polja: General Field, R&B, Jazz, American Roots Music, Music For Visual Media, Classical i Music Video/Film.

Justin Bieber, Doja Cat i H.E.R. izjednačeni su na drugoj poziciji sa po osam nominacija. Billie Eilish i Olivia Rodrigo izjednačene su na trećoj poziciji sa sedam nominacija.

Značajno je da su svi ovogodišnji vodeći nominirani nominirani u dvije ili više općih kategorija (album godine, pjesma godine, ploča godine i najbolji novi izvođač), a svi zajedno imaju nominacije u kategoriji albuma godine. Doja Cat je ove godine zapravo osvojila dvije nominacije u kategoriji albuma godine: jedan za vlastiti LP, Planet Her, i jedan za doprinos na Lil Nas X-ovom albumu Montero ("Scoop", koji je napisala zajedno s reperom).

Belieberovci također imaju više razloga za slavlje: ne samo da je ovo prvi put da je Bieber dobio nominaciju za najbolju R&B izvedbu, već je to i prvi put da je superzvijezda osigurala nominacije u tri od četiri Opće kategorije u jednoj godini.

Ako Rodrigo osvoji sva četiri, ona će biti treća osoba i druga žena kojoj je to uspjelo. Rekord Jay-Z-ja

JAY-Z na svoj konto nominacija ove godine dodaje još tri, čime je ukupan broj u karijeri porastao na 83. Time je reper i mogul sada jedini pojedinac s najviše nominacija za GRAMMY svih vremena.

To službeno čini JAY-Z-a i Beyoncé najnominiranijim parom u povijesti GRAMMY-ja, budući da je Beyoncé najnominiranija žena sa 79. (Beyonce je prošle godine uzela još četiri trofeja, čime je postala umjetnica s najviše pobjeda sa 28, dok JAY-Z trenutno ima 23.)

Paul McCartney slijedi JAY-Z-ja kao drugi najnominiraniji umjetnik svih vremena, dodajući još dvije ove godine kako bi ukupan broj nominacija u karijeri podigao na 81.
